October 21, 2014 Troop Committee Minutes
In attendance were: Shandon-dy, Jen, Tammy, Mike, CJ
Finances
The troop had $1370 in popcorn sales. we are anticipating a 38% profit for the boys.
Fundraising
Popcorn pick up is Friday November 7th in Milton. Thanks Shandon for going to pick up the orders! The boys must have their popcorn money turned in to Shandon no later than the Tuesday, Nov 4th meeting. Popcorn will be distributed to the boys for delivery at the November 11th meeting.
There was a discussion on whether the troop is paying for the adult leaders for Rechartering.
Discussion about seeing if the VFW would sponsor the Boys’ Life subscription for our scouts.
Unit Commissioner’s Report
Reminder: We need to set a date for Friends of Scouting by November 8th.
Training Report
All adults must have a current Youth Protection. This is very important for Rechartering to have the document printed so it can be turned in with our Troop’s packet.
Advancement Report
No report
Equipment Report
We need to replace axes and saws, in particular an ax handle and a bow saw.
Mike suggested purchasing a garden wagon to haul camping equipment/patrol boxes from the trailer to campsites. OR…if anyone knows someone who would be willing to donate one to the troop, it would be appreciated. It must have wide tires on it.
Service and Good Turn
Litter pick up date – Sunday December 7th, 1:00 at the Park n Ride. Remember to call John so he can report it to PennDot!
New Business
For the Troop’s potato bake, Pastor Rob offered use of the ground floor newly remodeled social room. Mike suggested doing two potato bakes over the Lenten season, rather than 1 in the fall and 1 in the spring.
Up-Coming Activities
November –
Rechartering – Saturday, November 8th. 10:40 registration for 11 scouts plus 3 crossing over in the spring. $27/boy. Either Tammy or CJ will attend rechartering, depending on schedules.
Also Saturday, November 8th is our Fall cleanup at the Church and possibly at a parishoner’s house.
Father/Son Campout 11/14-16. Cost for Webelo’s is $10/person (child or adult). We would like the Webelos to come to the Scout meeting prior to camping – Tues Nov 11th meeting.
December –
Indoor Rock Climbing – trying for Dec 9th or Dec 2nd to arrange as a date to climb. Jen is contacting Milton Rock Gym for availability/pricing.
Court of Honor and Christmas Party – December 16 – Mike will check with Pastor Rob to use upper room.
Jan/Feb – Klondike Derby at either Camp Brûlée (Jan) or Camp K (Feb)
